Tin snips are hand-held cutting tools, also known as shears.

Designed to cut sheet metal:

  • Aluminium - 1.6mm
  • Cold rolled sheet metal - 1.2mm
  • Galvanised sheet metal - 1.2mm
  • Stainless steel - 0.7mm

There are various snips available, depending on the cutting style:

  • Yellow handle - Straight cuts and wide curves
  • Red handle - Straight cuts and tight curves to the left
  • Green handle - Straight cuts and tight curves to the right
