For plunge cuts, use the retractable extraction ring to seal the chip space for stronger extraction; lock it up when you need a clearer view of your scribe mark.
When using large cutters, reduce RPM and take multiple passes—this improves finish quality and reduces load on the tool.

Pro Tip

Set depth in two steps: plunge close, then use the fine adjuster to “sneak up” on final depth—perfect for hinge recesses, worktop joints and hardware pockets.

Safety

Use suitable dust extraction and keep the extraction ring/chip deflector clear to prevent chip build-up affecting control.
Secure the workpiece properly and keep hands clear of the cutter path before switching on.
Unplug the router before changing cutters, copying rings, base runners, or adjusting depth and fences.
Use sharp cutters and correct RPM for the cutter diameter to reduce kickback risk and improve finish quality.
